Could Lady Gaga be performing at the 2011 Grammy Awards? Although performers have yet to be announced for the Feb. 13 ceremony, the pop star's choreographer hinted on Twitter that Gaga will return to the Grammy stage for a second year -- coincidentally, on the same day her new single is scheduled to be unveiled.
"Grammy meeting performance extrordinaire..!!! On it's way..." Laurieann Gibson, who won an MTV VMA in 2010 for the choreography in Gaga's "Bad Romance" music video, wrote on Twitter on Tuesday (Jan. 11). When a fan asked if the post meant that Gaga was performing at this year's ceremony, Gibson quickly responded with a "yes."
If Gibson's post is accurate, Gaga -- who is nominated for six Grammy awards this year, including album of the year for "The Fame Monster" -- would likely take the stage to debut the first single and title track from "Born This Way," her second full-length due May 23. The pop singer announced the album release date, as well as the premiere date of the first single, at midnight on New Year's Eve.
While Gaga may be on track to follow up her duet with Elton John from last year's Grammys, another female pop star is less likely to grace the stage: Britney Spears, who was rumored to be opening the show, is now looking like a longshot after a rep told UsMagazine and Perez Hilton that the singer is not confirmed to perform.
