Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are splitting after seven years of marriage.
In a joint statement to People, the music stars announce, "We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters."
The statement continues, "It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."
Lopez and Anthony married in Beverly Hills in June 2004, and have two children together, three-year-old twins Emme and Max. Lopez previously married Ojani Noa in 1997 and Cris Judd in 2001.
Lopez released "Love?", her first full-length album in three years, last May, and is currently in talks to return to "American Idol" after serving as a judge for the show's 10th season. Anthony, who released "Iconos" in 2010, performed "Aguanile" on the "Idol" finale alongside Lopez last May.
It remains unknown whether or not Lopez and Anthony will move forward with "Q'Viva! The Chosen," a Latin music reality show the couple was developing with "Idol" executive producer Simon Fuller.
