SNSD on their new concept, their past, and future plans

SNSD, who was once referred to as the nation’s dongseng girl group, has grown up and tossed aside their aegyo image. The girls, who used to sing “I love oppa” in their songs, have matured to a point where they can confidently tell “The Boys”, “I’ll lead you.”

This transformation comes as no surprise, since the girls are about to make their debut as a world star through their 3rd official album, which was released on October 19th. In addition to their songs being sold all over the world through iTunes, their single will also be released in the U.S. in November through Interscope Records.

Still, the girls who came in for the interview were as cute and lovable as ever, and they were brimming with a natural self-confidence. They stated, “We really like transformations,” and that “We were the one who insisted on doing the more powerful dances in this song. We want to show [a SNSD] who continuously grows and matures.”

They had an interview with OSEN :

What are thoughts about the release of the 3rd album? It was a little delayed.
Taeyeon – “SNSD has received a lot of love from all over the world. We prepared this album in return [for all the love].”
Sooyoung – “We were a little disappointed about the delay in our comeback since we, in our hearts and minds, were ready. But, since the delay was because of the venture into the U.S., it was all good. I think this will be a meaningful comeback.”

You worked with the famous producer Teddy Riley. How did you feel?
Sunny – “He brought a comfortable atmosphere. Rather than putting in special requests, he just told us to sing. He catered to the members, so a lot of the members’ individual colors were incorporated.”
Seohyun – “He complimented us a lot while we were recording. He also danced to the song.”

Are you satisfied with your title song, “The Boys”?
Tiffany – “SNSD’s songs hardly have any raps. This was our first time showing off our rap skills, so we were really anticipating it. I think the song came out well, so I’m very pleased. Instead of SNSD’s usual lively and girly image, we are anticipating that a more mature and cooler image will be shown [through this comeback].”

The choreography has become more powerful.
Sooyoung - “We tried hard to make it match the song, however, it’s not as aggressive or powerful as we thought initially. The ‘going down’ movement during the rap portion came about because there needed to be an impact at that point. The choreography team was trying to decide whether or not to include that move, but we insisted that we’d do it. They asked if it would be okay to just have 4 of the members do it, but all the members stated that they wanted to do it.” (laughs)

What did you emphasize the most in this 3rd album?
Sooyoung – “We tried to branch out so that we wouldn’t be limited to just one genre. If you listen to the album as a whole, you’ll see that rather than just a catchy hook phrase, the overall composition [of the song] is done well. Our vocals were heavily emphasized as well.”

This was the first time that Sooyoung composed.
Sooyoung – “I thought about what it would be like if there was someone who gave me such immense love. If there is someone who gives you a lot of love, this is a song you can listen to while you think of that person.”

I’ve heard that you are studying a lot about composing and producing, but your ideas don’t seem to be included a lot.
Tiffany – “I composed the English rap in “The Boys”.
Taeyeon – “I’m practicing a lot, but they are very strict. They don’t give us any advantage because we are SNSD members. We have to compete on the same playing field as regular composers and producers.”

“The Boys” image was surprising because it is much stronger than the usual SNSD image.
Sunny – “The lyrics’ [meaning] are up to the interpretation [of the listeners']. Rather than just the simple meaning of girls giving boys support, it can be interpreted in many ways. The girls could be telling the boys that we’ll take the lead, giving off a more tough image. It could also be interpreted as girls telling the boys to get their act together and cheer up. (laughs) The song is also aims to give courage to people, whether they’re girls or guys, who are tired out [by life].”
Seohyun – “With every album we release, we want to show you our growth. During the 1st album, we wore tennis shoes and showed you a young girl image. After that, we wore a white T-shirt and jeans like a college student. For this time also, we want to grow musically as well as in other areas.”
Taeyeon – “We really like transformations. I think fans also want to keep seeing different sides of us as well.”

You have accomplished a lot in the past year. What is it that you remember?
Seohyun – “Japan tour. Personally, I think I have learned a lot about how to enjoy the stage. I think I learned how to collaborate with fans for the first time. The collaboration between ourselves has gotten even better also.”
Tiffany - “During the Arena Tour, which had all of us traveling together for 3 months, the members spent a lot of time together and conversed a lot. It was another chance for [our friendship] to be strengthened. We ate yummy food and went to a hot spring, just as if we were on a field trip.”
Jessica – “The concert in Paris is memorable for me. Paris is my dream city.”
Yuri – “I also remember Paris the most. It was very sentimental. People with hairs of all different colors were singing along to Korean lyrics. Just the fact that they knew who we were made it so enjoyable.”

What are things you want to accomplish in the future?
Taeyeon - “To hold our own concert at Japan’s Tokyo Dome.”
Tiffany – “I want to try a world tour. I want to visit South America.”

You must feel a sense of responsibility as a representative of Korean singers.
Yoona – “There is a sense of responsibility and pressure, but we are thankful that people see us as leaders. We don’t set up a goal and say ‘we have to achieve it’. Rather, we just enjoy each moment and try to bond with each other more. I think that’s why good things have been happening. We are honored to be a part of this great time period to let more people know about K-Pop.”

Have you made a goal for your venture into the U.S.?
Tiffany – “Of course we have goals and anticipations, but we think that even having the opportunity to challenge ourselves is meaningful in itself. Rather than a venture, we just want to pay back our fans.”

It seems that you might have to promote with Wonder Girls.
Taeyeon – “I’m very curious, what kind of song will they come out with? I have a friend within the group, so I think I’ll be glad to see her.”

When rookie girl groups debut, they are often compared to SNSD. You are brought up a lot.
Seohyun - “To make us even a subject of discussion is an honor for us. Honestly, even when people say ‘SNSD, you’re amazing’, I’m still not sure. (laughs) So I think that I really have to try even harder.”

You are quite a ‘sunbae‘ ['senior'] group now.
Yoona – “It’s not because we’re getting old, it’s because many young girls have been coming out. (laughs)”
Yuri – “I was in the waiting room while serving as the MC for MBC‘s ‘Music Core’ when hoobaes came to greet me with their albums. It feels like it we had been doing just that just a few days ago, so it was a weird feeling.”
Sooyoung – “Truthfully, we didn’t have much of a chance to see sunbae female singers’ performances. We saw Lee Hyori sunbae, Beyonce, and Christina Aguilera‘s concerts, but we heard that the hoobaes these days want to see SNSD’s performance. They also said they were influenced by us. It was a very weird feeling, but at the same time made us very proud and happy.”

What has been the past 4 years like for SNSD?
Sunny – “To be honest, we didn’t know anything in the beginning and just went for it. As time passed, we started to develop a know-how. However more time passed, and we thought ‘Ah, there really isn’t a trick to all this’. But we were very proud and happy that we have been able to achieve a lot of things during the 4 years. Rather than thinking about the past 4 years, we are trying to figure out how to move forward.”

SECRET shares their thoughts on making comeback debut the same week as SNSD

The four ladies of SECRET are back with their first full-length album, ‘Moving in Secret‘. Different from the cute, girl-next door image fans are used to, SECRET has undergone a complete transformation. For their new album, they’re rocking mostly all-black ensembles and heavier eye-makeup for a more adult, sultry-look.

With this said, SECRET will also be going head-to-head against the ladies of SNSD who are making their comeback the same week as SECRET. Most idol stars have postponed their late-October comebacks and opted to begin their new promotions in early November to avoid the SNSD onslaught, but not SECRET. Newsen recently asked them about their bold decision, and the girls answered rather confidently.

They humbly stated, “We are a little concerned, knowing what SNSD is capable of. However for the two years that we’ve been in the industry, we’ve never looked at it as competition or wanted to win against anyone. We simply want to confidently show our fans our new look, as well everything we’ve worked so hard to put together. That in and of itself is enough for us.”

Although they were humble, they seemed confident and raised expectations for their full-length album. “They may have 9 girls to put on a phenomenal dance performance, but I think the four of us have fresh new appeals and we plan on emphasizing all of them.”Zinger joked,  “They may be the juggernauts of K-pop, but we too have our petite appeals!”

But SECRET has already started off strong. The girls are receiving attention for their mature & seductive transformation for this new album after showcasing their innocent, bubbly charm with “Starlight Moonlight“.
The girls want to express themselves as iconic & chic, confident women of the new era. SECRET makes their comeback debut performance with “Love is Move“ on the October 20th edition of Mnet’s M! Countdown .

SNSD introduced and revealed new concept photos for “The Boys” !

We’re only a few hours away from SNSD‘s global release of their 3rd full-length album, “The Boys“, and the treasure trove of eye-candy has finally started to crack open with these stunning new concept photos!

Korean community sites have been chattering excitedly about some new concept photos that’ve made their way online. In these photos, the girls flaunt a confident look that embraces sophistication with a touch of sass.

They’re definitely not aegyo princesses anymore, so their competition better watch out! SNSD is ready to take their pop queen crowns once again, and it looks like they’re not going to take any prisoners.

Not to fear, Sones — SNSD seems to understand the agony of waiting, and so they’ve shared a clip on YouTube to help the time go by. They introduce their album entirely in English, with Jessica and Tiffany taking the lead. Seohyun also speaks up at the end in English!

Kim Hyun Joong on expectations for “Lucky Guy”

SS501‘s Kim Hyun Joong is making a comeback with his second solo mini-album, ‘Lucky Guy‘. For this latest work, he experimented with a variety of genres, from the punk-rock feel of “Lucky Guy” to the sweet ballad, “I’m Your Man“.

The star recently sat down for an interview with the Korea Times, where he revealed his thoughts on ‘Lucky Guy’, his solo promotions, and the overabundance of idols in the industry.

Q : Do you have any particular expectations for this album?
Kim Hyun Joong: “I just hope a lot of people listen and enjoy it. I’m interested in hearing what the public has to say about it, more than my actual fans. The sales for ‘Break Down‘ weren’t bad, but I wasn’t satisfied, which is why I focused a bit more on the music this time.”

Q : You are only promoting your album for three short weeks. Is that enough time?
Kim Hyun Joong: “I wish I could promote it a while longer, but I have a performance that was scheduled prior and wanted to release the album before then. It’s too bad, but I’ll work hard during the time I have.”

Q : Which song is your favorite?
Kim Hyun Joong: “Lucky Guy”. Why? Because it’s the title song (laughs). I want to have a good time performing this song on stage, because I couldn’t when I was performing “Break Down”.

Q : Is it lonely performing as a soloist after being in a multi-member group?
Kim Hyun Joong: “Not at all. I want to focus on making a phenomenal album, and when it’s all said and done, I’ll put on a free concert for my fans.”

Q : What do you mean, when it’s all said and done?
Kim Hyun Joong: “The career of a dance artist is short-lived. It’s not realistic for me to be in my mid-thirties and dance to 20 songs in a row on stage. I want to hold a final concert for my fans, while I’m still in my prime.”

Q : Rain has just enlisted in the military, meaning that there is now a void in the ‘male solo-artist’ domain. Are you looking to become the next Rain?
Kim Hyun Joong: “Rain has accomplished so much during his career. It’s a little different for me though, because I debuted with a group. Although it may not be me, there will be a solo artist who will surpass Rain’s achievements.”

Q : Don’t you think that K-Pop these days focuses too much on the music of idol stars?
Kim Hyun Joong: “I too was an idol star, but I don’t really have any particular thoughts about that. The music the idols are performing now might just be the music pushed by their agency. The stubborn ones will probably break out and produce a solo album to do the kind of music that’s right for them.”

Q : Have any junior idols caught your attention?
Kim Hyun Joong: “Not sure, I didn’t really watch any music programs, except when I was promoting “Break Down”. I’m keeping a close eye on SNSD though, because I know they are making a comeback at a date similar to my own.”

Q : Aren’t you a little intimidated to go head-to-head with the SNSD girls?
Kim Hyun Joong: “No, not really. I’m not trying to win against SNSD, I just think that the industry will be more lively with their comeback. There will be people who will listen to my music, despite SNSD releasing a new album.”

Q : Any plans to go back into acting?
Kim Hyun Joong: “I think I could maybe in June of next year. Nothing specific has been decided yet, but looking at my schedule, I think that would be best. I played two gentle roles for the last two, so this time I want to play the rough, bad boy.”

What appeals more to you, acting or singing?
Kim Hyun Joong: “Both have their own appeals. With my music, I can show you what I’m about, but when you act, you live the life of another person. When I sing, I want to act, and when I act, I want to sing (laughs). It’s just hard to do both, is all. With singing, though, you get rated once a week on music programs so it definitely keeps you grounded.”

What are your plans for this album?
Kim Hyun Joong: “The media and the public shocked me by asking if I was really releasing another album already. I thought maybe I rushed myself, but it’s something I put a lot of effort into and I want to work hard until early next year. I thank my fans for always keeping up with me, and if you have $0.70 to spare, how about you download my new single, haha.”

Rihanna 'Excited' for Chris Brown's Success: 'I'm a Fan'

Rihanna says she resented Chris Brown for a time, but has put that behind her and is happy that her former boyfriend has found success in music again. Rihanna tells Esquire magazine that disliking Brown "was taking up too much of my time" and that she has moved on from that.
"It was too much anger," the 23-year-old said. "I'm really excited to see the breakthrough he's had in his career."

Brown, 21, is serving five years of probation after pleading guilty to felony assault for the attack on Rihanna in the early morning hours before the 2009 Grammys. "Graffiti," the album he released 10 months after the attack, was a commercial disappointment. But his latest release, "F.A.M.E. (Forgiving All My Enemies)," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in March; it reached gold status and has multiple pop and R&B hits with songs like "Look at Me Now" and "Deuces," among other tracks.

"It's incredible to see how he pulled out the way he did. Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know?" Rihanna said. "I really like the music he's putting out. I'm a fan of his stuff. I've always been a fan."

Rihanna has done well musically, too: Her albums following the attack - "Rated R" and "Loud" - have both gone platinum, and she's releasing a new album, "Talk That Talk," next month. Her latest single, "We Found Love," is her 20th song to hit the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart since she debuted in 2005.

Overall, she says she wants to see Brown do well.
"I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have," she said.
The November issue of Esquire magazine hits newsstands on Oct. 16.

Rihanna Reveals Two Album Covers for 'Talk That Talk'

Rihanna has revealed the album covers for the standard and deluxe edition of her seventh album, "Talk That Talk" (Nov. 21).

In the version for the standard edition, Rih Rih licks her coral red hued lips, posing in a camouflage sleeveless shirt with the album title tatted on her right arm. Rihanna blows out a puff of smoke in the black and white version for the deluxe edition.

After four days of it's U.K. release, Rihanna's first single, "We Found Love,"  featuring Calvin Harris, raced up the U.K. chart to No. 1, making it her sixth U.K. No. 1 single since "Umbrella" in 2007.

Taylor Swift Named Billboard Woman of the Year

Taylor Swift, the four-time Grammy winner and biggest selling albums artist in any genre for the past 12 months, has been chosen to receive the coveted Woman of the Year Award at the 2011 Billboard Women in Music event on Dec. 2 in New York City.

The 21-year-old singer-songwriter is the youngest artist to ever receive the honor, and it comes on the heels of earning several 2011 Billboard Music Awards, among them Top Country Album for the five-time platinum selling "Speak Now."

Swift has spent the past year on the Speak Now World Tour in support of her third album,  which debuted last October atop the Billboard 200, selling over a million copies in its first week. All 14 tracks on the country-pop juggernaut were composed by Swift, and she made Hot 100 history by charting 11 songs off the album in a single week.

The Pennsylvania native is used to breaking chart records and currently holds another Hot 100 record for most top 10 debuts, with seven. Her self-titled debut, released in 2006, holds the honor of longest-running album in Billboard 200 since 2000.

She followed that up in 2008 with "Fearless," a critically acclaimed set that established her as a skilled songwriter and a procurer of hits, including "Love Story," "You Belong With Me" and "White Horse." Swift's "Fearless" is the longest-running No. 1 album by a female country artist in 200 history. Not surprisingly, the 6-times platinum "Fearless" is the most awarded album in country music history and her overall worldwide sales now exceed 20 million albums and 40 million song downloads. Again, she's only 21.

"Taylor has shown the power of good songwriting with music that has transcended genres, and we're thrilled to recognize all of her successes over the past year by honoring her with the Billboard Woman of the Year Award," says Bill Werde, Billboard's Editorial Director. "At the young age of 21, Taylor has already made a major impact on music and has been an incredible role model for aspiring singers/songwriters and young women everywhere.  I look forward to watching her career continue to flourish in the years to come."

She is currently nominated for six 2011 CMA Awards including Entertainer of the Year, and is readying the  November release of the CD/DVD and CD/Blu-ray sets of her Speak Now World Tour.

Swift is a dedicated and prolific philanthropist as well, and has lent her time and efforts to raise money for causes ranging from clean water to literacy to disaster relief. She personally donated $1 million to to charities in the past year alone.

Billboard's annual Women in Music Event, now in its sixth year, celebrates the most powerful and talented women in the music business, coinciding with the publication of Billboard's Women in Music Power Players list. This year's event will be taking place on Friday, Dec. 2 at Capitale in New York City. Last year's honor went to Black Eyed Peas singer, Fergie.

Paramore Offers New Songs Through 'Singles Club'

Pop-rockers Paramore promised fans new material this year, and singer Hayley Williams and company fulfilled that promise with the announcement of the "Paramore Singles Club" via their official website's blog on Monday (Oct. 10). While fans will be able to download three new or recently released singles in multiple packages, the band has pushed its new album to a 2012 release date.

The club offers fans access to three Paramore tracks from this year: "In The Mourning," which was released as an acoustic track on YouTube; "Renegade," which was unveiled live at Fueled By Ramen's 15th Anniversary Concert on Sept. 7; and the brand new track "Hello Cold World." The tracks are available in four different bundles exclusively via the Paramore webstore, ranging from three mp3 downloads to a four-piece, 7" vinyl boxset that also includes "Monster," from last summer's "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" soundtrack.

"This club is our way of getting these songs directly to the Paramore family," says the group. "We really wanted to do something special for all of you around the holidays to thank you for making 2011 so amazing and sticking with us as we go into 2012 and start working on the new album."

The tracks being offered in the Paramore Singles Club are the first pieces of new material from the newly reconfigured band, which saw the departure of Josh and Zac Farro late last year.

SECRET reveals new teaser photo for “Move”!

With one week remaining until their comeback album “Moving in Secret“ release, SECRET will be releasing a music video teaser on October 13th.

TS Entertainment revealed, ”SECRET’s first full-length album title track ‘Move”s music video teaser will be released through various music sites and the new company homepage on the 13th.”

SECRET’s new track “Move” was made by the hit-making duo Kang Ji Won and Kim Ki Bum who produced all of their previous hits including “Magic“, “Madonna“, “Shy Boy“, and “Starlight Moonlight“.

An TS Entertainment representative stated, “This time we are taking a risk in different direction, but it is a pop dance song that has enhanced SECRET’s colors. The addictive chorus and strong beat will capture the ears of the public once again.“

Following the teaser photos of the individual members, today a group photo of the girls was revealed. In the photo they have dark eye makeup, sexy hairstyles, and blingy black outfits, showing off SECRET’s ‘black charisma’. This photo has raised the anticipation for their upcoming album and music video.

Also the music video was directed by Hong Won Ki, who also directed SNSD‘s comeback video for “The Boys“. Many are wondering how the two videos will differ as they portray the two different girl groups.

Prior to the music video’s release, 23 jacket photos will be released through Naver later today.

Kim Hyun Joong to release a digital single in November + plans to act again next year

SS501‘s Kim Hyun Joong revealed that he will be making a comeback as an actor at the end of next year.

Kim Hyun Joong held a press conference for the release of his 2nd mini-album, where he explained, “Since I released a new album only four months after my last album, there may be some people who feel that it came out too soon. However, I wanted to show off as much as I could during the Asia or perhaps world tour that I’ll hold next year, so that’s the reason I’m releasing my 2nd mini album.”

He continued, “In the beginning of November, there’ll be a new digital single, and in January of next year, I will release another album.”

Kim Hyun Joong also talked about his acting plans as well. “I don’t think I can be a singer and an actor at the same time… When I’m a singer, I want the fans to see me as a singer… The Asia tour will end next June, then right after that I’ll start acting. Later on in the year, I’ll come back to the fans through a drama.” He added, “If I rest for too long, I become lazy… I’m also slowly starting to think about doing movies as well.”

After his appearances in popular dramas like KBS‘s ‘Boys over Flowers‘ and MBC‘s ‘Playful Kiss‘, many are interested in Hyun Joong’s return as an actor.

Kim Hyun Joong discusses the concept for “Lucky Guy”

Kim Hyun Joong recently sat down with reporters to talk about his upcoming music video for “Lucky Guy”.

“‘Breakdown’ was a very powerful track, whereas ‘Lucky Guy’ is more of an upbeat song that I will be able to enjoy with fans… The concept this time around was inspired by the movie ‘Ocean’s Eleven’.”

He continued, “This music video was shot with a gambler concept, but although the background and atmosphere make it seem like it’s in a casino, in reality, I’ll be playing Blue Marble.” (Blue Marble is a Korean board game similar to Monopoly)

With his last mini-album selling 110,000 copies, Kim Hyun Joong holds the record for the highest figure of album sales out of all the solo artists this year.

He joked, “Since the 1st mini album sold 110,000 units, I hope the 2nd mini album will sell 220,000 copies.”

Kim Hyun Joong will be hold his comeback stage on October 20th through Mnet’s ‘M! Countdown‘, and after three weeks of promotion, he will hold his first solo Japanese tour in November.

Kim Hyun Joong wants to be SS501′s best solo artist

SS501‘s Kim Hyun Joong held a press conference commemorating the release of his 2nd mini-album, “Lucky“, where he discussed the goals he had for his latest work.

The 2nd mini album starts off with “Do You Like That” and “Lucky Guy”, two tracks that carry a pop-meets-punk rock flavor. They are then followed by the softer songs, “I’m Your Man” and “U”.

Kim Hyun Joong stated, “The 1st mini album showed you the first glimpse of my image as a solo artist, and my capability in being able to ‘fill up’ the stage by myself without having all the members of SS501 there. The 2nd mini album will focus more on music in itself; as in it’s meant to be listened to, rather than being a background track for the visual components.”

He continued, “I didn’t dream of being a rocker, but I’ve always liked rock before joining SS501. I was in a school band during middle school, and played bass at church. I wanted to become a musician behind a cool rocker. I want to incorporate more rock genre music into future concepts.”

Although the promotion period for the 1st mini album was short, Kim Hyun Joong managed to sell 130,000 copies and the responses from international fans were also very positive.

He confessed, “It wasn’t easy promoting alone. There was a lot of work to do, from developing the album concept to finding songs, and it was exhausting. Before, I only had to do well on my parts, but as a solo artist, I had to calculate things like where it was hard for me to breathe while dancing; consequently, it was more difficult.”

Kim Hyun Joong continued, “But through the 1st solo promotions, I learned a lot of things such as how to control the tempo and speed.”

When asked what his goals for the new album were, Kim Hyun Joong stated, “I want this album to do better than the 1st mini album, and I want to hear that I’m the best as a solo artist out of all the SS501 members.”

T-ara talks about topping the Oricon chart with “Bo Peep Bo Peep”

T-ara made headlines for being the first Korean girl group to land in Japan’s Oricon weekly chart with their debut single, “Bo Peep Bo Peep“.  Released on October 4th, the single sold 49,712 copies thus far, breaking the records set by SNSD and KARA‘s debut singles, which recorded at 44,907 copies (“Genie“) and 29,283 copies (“Mister“) respectively.

The ladies sat down with a reporter recently to discuss their feelings on landing such a formidable achievement.

They stated, “It’s amazing to see that we not only topped the Oricon daily chart, but the weekly as well. After achieving our goal of topping the chart, we all cried together and promised to work harder than ever.”

When told that they were the first Korean girl group to set such a record, T-ara replied, “After we found out that we were the first Korean girl group to do so, we felt even prouder of our accomplishment. The Korean and Japanese system is different, but our Japanese fans are just as enthusiastic and supportive of our Korean fans, so we didn’t feel any big difficulties.”

They continued, “We’re currently preparing for our Korean comeback in November and are spending busy days in the rehearsal room.  We will continue to promote in Japan.”

When asked what their goal for the rest of the year was, they stated, “Since we’ve achieved our goal of recording first place on the Oricon, we hope to achieve positive results with our Korean album.”

T-ara will be making their comeback with “Lovey Dovey“, an electronic club track by Shinsadong Tiger.

SNSD’s comeback causes a delay in the comeback of other artists

SNSD’s delayed comeback didn’t just upset fans; it’s also thrown the comeback plans of other artists into complete disarray.

Many had planned their comeback dates to avoid being overshadowed by SNSD, but now that the date’s up in the air, they all confessed that they have to re-adjust their schedules.

A representative of one artist who was originally scheduled to make a comeback at the end of this month said, “With SNSD suddenly delaying their comeback, we’re all worried about whether it will overlap with ours. It’s more beneficial for us on the digital charts, and gives us the chance to make headlines if there was a two week gap between their comeback and ours. It seems we’ll just have to set another date.”

Another representative added, “SNSD has made a lot of achievements overseas, and since it’s their first Korean comeback in a while, they will surely gain a lot of headlines. We’re trying to set a comeback date away from theirs, so we’re all keeping our ears open for a final date.”

There are rumors that SNSD has set their comeback for the third week of October, but SM Entertainment has yet to confirm.  All of their interviews and comeback stages originally scheduled for the first week of October have been postponed.

SNSD’s “The Boys” to be delayed due to release in the States?

It has been revealed that SNSD has plans to delay their album release in Korea because they will also be releasing an album in the US.

SM Entertainment stated, “It has been decided that SNSD will release an album in the States in an attempt to market ‘The Boys‘ to the Korean and international audience simultaneously. The release dates are only tentative at this point and may change. We will announce detailed information as soon as things are finalized.”

According to an album sales website, SNSD’s new album was scheduled to be released on October 5th but it currently may be postponed.

This album is especially noteworthy, as Michael Jackson‘s very own producer Teddy Riley has written and composed an urban dance track for the girls.

With the possible delay of their album release, their scheduled October 7th comeback TV stage will most likely be postponed as well.
