Ke$ha Kills James Van Der Beek in 'Blow' Music Video

Avert your eyes, "Dawson's Creek" diehards: Ke$ha takes aim at the TV drama's former star James Van Der Beek (who she lovingly refers to as "James Van Der Douche") in the bizarre, unicorn-filled music video for "Blow," which premiered today (Feb. 25). Watch the official video here.

After opening with the disclaimer, "No mythological creatures were harmed in the making of this video," Ke$ha is shown swilling wine at a dinner party and telling a pair of partygoers with unicorn heads about how she became "elected to the parliament of Uzbekistan." As the pulsating song kicks in, Ke$ha and Van Der Beek eye each other from opposite ends of the dance floor before sharing a feisty exchange about Muenster cheese in the middle. The pair then whip out laser guns and a few unicorns get caught in the crossfire; ultimately, Ke$ha prevails, and hangs the actor's head on her wall over a placard that reads 'James Van Der Dead.'

"Blow" is the second single off of Ke$ha's "Cannibal" EP following the Hot 100-topping "We R Who We R," which had a music video with just as much pizzazz but a lot less Van Der Beek. Fans of "Blow" will get to hear a remix of the song by Cirkut when Ke$ha releases "I Am the Dance Commander + I Commander You To Dance: The Remix Album" on March 22.

Lady Gaga 'Born This Way' Video to Debut Monday

Lady Gaga fans should be thanking their Mother Monster, because they won't have to wait nearly as long to see the "Born This Way" music video as they did to hear the song. The clip will premiere next Monday (Feb. 28) at 11 am ET on the website of celeb blogger and Gaga pal Perez Hilton before airing on MTV's "The Seven" at 5 pm ET.

The "Born This Way" video was co-directed by Gaga, her longtime choreographer longtime, Laurieann Gibson, and celebrated fashion photographer Nick Knight. The song itself debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 last week, making it the 1,000th song to top the chart in its 52-year history. Gaga told Billboard.com that the milestone is "a tremendous honor," and in Billboad's latest cover story she dished on the entire album, which is slated for a May 23 release.

"It's quite eclectic," said Gaga. "It ranges from 'Born This Way' being very light to the rest of the album becoming quite darker. I in jest say that 'Born This Way' is the marijuana to the heroins of the album, the ultimate intense intoxication of the record. It's an analogy."

Gaga's video comes right on the heels of another anticipated visual a pop star, as Britney Spears' "Hold It Against Me" clip made its debut last week. Judging by Gaga's most recent video premieres for "Alejandro" and "Telephone," and the response to "Born This Way" thus far, all signs point to the new clip arriving with just as much fanfare.

Are you excited for Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" video?

Jennifer Lopez To Premiere Video For 'On The Floor' On 'American Idol'

"American Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez will premiere the music video for new single "On the Floor" during the singing talent show March 3.

The tune, which features Cuban-American rapper Pitbull, debuted this week at No. 40 on Billboard's Pop Songs chart and at No. 26 on the Dance/Club Play Songs chart. The RedOne-produced track is the lead single from Lopez's upcoming seventh album, "Love?," due to be released on March 29 on Island Def Jam.

The "Idol" stage is no stranger to song and/or video premieres, including ones from its judges -- in 2008, former judge Paula Abdul premiered the video for "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow," from Randy Jackson's "Music Club: Volume 1" album. The song sold 32,000 copies in the week the video premiered and improved to 35,000 the following week (selling 413,000 to date), but didn't do as well at radio, reaching only No. 62 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The release of "On the Floor" comes following a lackluster few years for Lopez's music sales. Her 2007 album "Brave" failed to chart any singles inside the top 30 on Billboard's Hot 100 and sold 650,000 copies worldwide -- a marked decrease from her previous millions-selling albums, resulting in the singer's release from Epic Records.

But Lopez's new gig as an "Idol" judge seems to provide a stellar opportunity to revive her music career's fortunes. Following a first run on "Idol's" initial episodes in which she was branded as a more positive, non-critical force, Lopez has stepped up her critiques in recent episodes, though last night's episode resulted in the 41-year-old breaking down following the emotional cut of fan favorite Chris Medina.

JR Reitz, PD at WHFN (Fun 107)/New Bedford, Mass., said of "On the Floor": "We thought the song was a hit the first time we listened. It's the perfect Jennifer Lopez song, her voice sounds great, and Pitbull makes it very contemporary and relavant. The song is already a hit in our market and I think she can easily have more."

Billy Ray Cyrus in GQ: My family is under attack by Satan, I’m ‘scared for’ daughter Miley

In this startling interview with GQ, Billy Ray Cyrus mentions Miley Cyrus’ “handlers”, his fears of seeing her dead like Anna Nicole Smith and Michael Jackson and the evil side of the industry.
Here’s the NY Daily News report on it:
Since condemning Miley Cyrus’ bong scandal in December, Billy Ray Cyrus hasn’t said much about his daughter or the controversies that keep surrounding her.
But in an interview conducted a mere five days after the video leaked, for GQ’s March issue, he comes out swinging.
Among the most startling revelations is an admission that “Hannah Montana” “destroyed” his family and his fear that 18-year-old Miley could possibly end up meeting the same tragic fate that befell controversial stars that came before her – namely, Michael Jackson, Kurt Cobain and Anna Nicole Smith.
“Every time something happened in Miley’s career, every time the train went off the track, if you will – Vanity Fair, pole-dancing, whatever scandal it was – her people, or as they say in today’s news, her handlers, every time they’d put me … ‘Somebody’s shooting at Miley! Put the old man up there!’” Billy Ray told the magazine about why he used to have such a strong public presence in his daughter’s life.
“Well, I took it, because I’m her daddy, and that’s what daddies do,” he added. “‘Okay, nail me to the cross, I’ll take it … ‘ ”
Now the 49-year-old father of six said he realized “they used me every time.” And he eventually reached his breaking point, choosing not to attend the starlet’s 18th birthday party last year.
“You know why I didn’t go? Because they were having it in a bar,” he explained. “It was wrong. It was for 21-years-old and up. Once again all them people, they all wanted me to fly out so that then when all the bad press came they could say, ‘Daddy endorsed this stuff … ‘”
“If I would have went out there I would have been right in the middle of all this stuff that’s going on right now with the bong. They’d be hanging it on my ass,” Billy Ray continued. “I had the common sense … I said, ‘This whole thing’s falling apart up there and they just want to blame all of this stuff on you again.’ I’m staying out of it.”
Billy Ray, who is in the process of divorcing Miley’s mom Tish, said he knew something was especially wrong in the days before the video of the teen star smoking salvia from a bong hit the web.
He explained to the magazine that he had heard her “handlers” were concerned about a missing iPhone and bartering with the people who obtained it.
“And that was on the heels, the week previous, of some pictures from Spain [which showed Miley drinking a beer] – a five- or seven-day period of just boom!” he recalled. “There’s a train wreck happening and my daughter’s right in the middle of it.”
Since he didn’t know what was on the missing phone, Billy Ray said he tried to find out through Miley’s team.
“They told me it was none of my business,” he claimed. “I’m dealing with somebody that had only known my daughter for possibly four years and I’m her daddy. I was pretty damn insulted.”
“And I took that as the ultimate alarm,” he continued. “‘It’s none of your business’! None of my business that you’re out running around L.A. trying to buy kids’ computers and phones because there’s something about my daughter?”
In her own recent interview with Marie Claire, Miley apologized for disappointing her fans with the drug incident, but also noted that it’s “normal” to be “imperfect” at her age.
Billy Ray made a similar concession in the GQ interview, admitting, “There’s no doubt I did stuff when I was a teenager that I’m sure could have turned out horribly.”
“I’ve done some stupid crap – I do stupid crap. We all do. But it’s different when you sit back and you see it happening to your little girl,” he explained. “I feel like I got to try. It’s my daughter”
“And,” Billy Ray added, “some of these handlers are perhaps more interested in handling Miley’s money than her safety and her career,” something that leaves him “scared for her.”
Billy Ray went on to discuss how fame ultimately cut short the lives of Jackson, Cobain and Smith, which has made him all the more eager to help his daughter navigate through life in the spotlight.
When he looks back on Miley’s rapid rise to fame through “Hannah Montana,” on which they both starred, he said he sees how “the business was driving a wedge between us.”
“It destroyed my family. I’ll tell you right now – the damn show destroyed my family,” Billy Ray declared, before admitting he wishes they never agreed to do the Disney Channel show.
“I’d take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just be everybody okay, safe and sound and happy and normal, would have been fantastic. Heck, yeah,” he said.
“I’d erase it all in a second if I could.”
And for those who believe Billy Ray’s concern is really about whether his daughter will continue to be a cash cow, he offered to set the record straight.
“I’ve never made a dime off of Miley,” he insisted. “You got a lot of people have made percentages off of her. I’m proud to say to this day I’ve never made one commissioned dollar, or dime, off of my daughter.”
Billy Ray didn’t place all the blame on those currently in Miley’s life. There are also evil forces at work, he claimed.
“Somewhere along this journey, both mine and Miley’s faith has been shaken,” he said. “That saddens me the most.”
His family, Billy Ray argued, is now being ruined by Satan.
“No doubt,” he insisted. “There’s no doubt about it.”
And Billy Ray also held himself partially responsible for his daughter’s behavior.
“How many interviews did I give and say, ‘You know what’s important between me and Miley is I try to be a friend to my kids’? I said it a lot,” he admitted. “And sometimes I would even read other parents might say, ‘You don’t need to be a friend, you need to be a parent.’ Well, I’m the first guy to say to them right now: You were right.”
“I should have been a better parent. I should have said, ‘Enough is enough – it’s getting dangerous and somebody’s going to get hurt,’” he continued. “I should have, but I didn’t. Honestly, I didn’t know the ball was out of bounds until it was way up in the stands somewhere.”

Wonder Girls & Claude Kelly’s Cambio video feature revealed!

The Wonder Girls and producer Claude Kelly have been scaling their way up the headlines with their recent recording sessions in the studio this past month. Today, a two minute exclusive on Cambio has been released, giving fans a sneak peek at what Claude and the Girls have been up to!

For those of you that don’t know, Claude Kelly has worked with a large number of huge American artists including Britney Spears (Circus), Miley Cyrus (Permanent December), Bruno Mars (Grenade) and Flo Rida (Who Dat Girl), so his close participation on the Wonder Girls’  upcoming debut album has drawn lots of interest.

Although the video (watch it here!) doesn’t reveal any teasers of the tracks themselves, Claude gives us insight on the process he undergoes to produce a hit track. “The best songs come out of knowing [the members'] personalities and, having met all five of them and worked with them now, I really know the differences between them and how they move, how they talk, how they sing,” Claude explains as the girls dance and cheekily throw snow at each other throughout the video.

Later on, the Girls teach Claude a bit of Korean. “When we’re done, I’ll be like ‘daebak (대박)!‘” he exclaimed.
Furthermore, the producer talked about the importance of creating a hit that caters to both the American audience and the international fanbase they already have.

“I want [the track] to be edgy and fun and catchy and danceable so that people of all ages and all ethnicities really can sing along to it,” Claude continued. ”That’s my goal. I’m probably not going to rest until I get it done that way.”

With Claude Kelly and other top producers working on this album, which we’ve been told is now scheduled for an April release, we’re going to have a ton of great music to look forward to this spring. First TVXQ, next Big Bang, and in a few months, the Wonder Girls… it’s like 2008 all over again!

4minute praised by US Billboard & CNN, plans possible advancement into America?

Although Cube Entertainment has yet to release any information in regards to 4minute debuting outside Korea and Japan, it seems like there’s already some interest brewing from internationally-based sources.

After 4minute won the “K-Pop New Artist of the Year” award at the Billboard Japan Music Awards 2010 that took place earlier this week, the victory earned attention from CNN’s Asian online newspaperCNNGo as well as Billboard’s B2B website Billboard.biz.

The CNNGo article praised,
“Winners on the night, chosen by Billboard, included one of the leaders of the K-Pop boom, girl group 4Minute, who took home a Korea Billboard Special Award.
The five-piece showed exactly why South Korean acts are stealing a march on their Japanese counterparts with tightly choreographed performances of “First” and “Muzik,” with the hall’s speaker system booming.
Fans screamed out the names of the girls, who did their best to answer questions on stage in Japanese, and the five-piece delighted the press by hanging around for extra shots, before attending a luxury after-party at the Ritz Carlton hotel.”
Billboard.biz also included 4minute in their coverage, posting their Japanese FIRST music video, commenting on the girls’ fashion and choreography. A representative of 4minute revealed today, “On the day of the Billboard Awards, Bill Werde, the American Billboard’s editorial director, asked for an applause from the audience after 4minute’s performance, then said, ‘It’s a pity that a group like this is known only in Asia.’”

Werde continued to praise the quintet on his personal Twitter (@bwerde), tweeting, “K-poppers 4 Minute play @ Billboard Japan awards. Some1 needs to explain why they aren’t stars in US. Catchy songs, great look, high energy … K-pop has really taken over the japanese market, and asia in gen.” Werde also promised to publish an article on Billboard.com soon to focus on the 4minute.

According to the eDaily report, 4minute has finished preparing for their debut in America. No other details or official reports have been released about such a debut, but stay tuned to allkpop as we continue to follow this matter.

Miley Cyrus Opens Up About Salvia Bong Hit

Last December, Miley Cyrus took the bong hit viewed around the world. Now the "Hannah Montana" star has finally responded to her incident with psychedelic herb salvia, footage of which infamously leaked online.

"I'm not perfect," Cyrus recently told Marie Claire regarding her use of salvia, which is a legal drug in most states including California, where she reportedly smoked it. "I made a mistake ... I'm disappointed in myself for disappointing my fans."

But Cyrus revealed a different reaction, after her interviewer pushed back with empathy, asking, "But do you really think it was a mistake? Obviously college kids your age all over America are smoking bongs with a lot more than salvia in them."

The Disney star's response: "But they're not Miley Cyrus. They're not role models. So for me it was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for."

Reportedly filmed just five days after her eighteenth birthday, the video of Miley's salvia bong hit features the singer/actress declaring that she was "having a little bit of a bad trip."

Ashlee Simpson Files For Divorce From Pete Wentz

Singer Ashlee Simpson has filed for divorce from Pete Wentz, the former bassist of Fall Out Boy whom she married in 2008. The news was first reported by TMZ and was confirmed in a statement from a spokesperson for the couple.

"After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce," reads the statement on behalf of Simpson and Wentz. "We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our number one priority.  We ask that everyone honor our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives."

In documents filed to the Los Angeles Superior Court today (Feb. 9), Simpson cites "irreconcilable differences" as the primary motivation behind the dissolution of divorce. Simpson is asking for joint legal custody and primary physical custody of the couple's 2-year-old son, Bronx.

Simpson recorded three albums before announcing her engagement to Wentz in April 2008 and marrying him one month later. Wentz founded Fall Out Boy in 2001 and played with the pop-punk group until the foursome went on an indefinite hiatus in late 2009; his latest musical project, Black Cards, has yet to release its debut album.

Lady Gaga: 'Born This Way' Single Coming Friday

Lady Gaga announced at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve that her next single, "Born This Way," would debut on Feb. 13, but fans might just get to hear it two days earlier than expected. "Can't wait any longer, single coming Friday," the pop star wrote on Twitter this morning (Feb. 7).

Gaga is clearly anxious for the world to experience her latest pop opus: last month, she personally leaked the song's lyrics and credits on Twitter as a thank-you to her fans. DJ White Shadow, who is listed as the single's producer along with Gaga and Fernando Garibay, told Billboard.com last Wednesday (Feb. 2) that the song was recorded "around the world" and that it "sounds like it reads, but not like you think until you hear it."

If "Born This Way" is indeed released on Friday (Feb. 11), it will come out on the same day that another pop star, Justin Bieber, enjoys a big premiere -- the release of his 3D biopic, "Never Say Never." Whether or not the single debuts before the weekend, Lady Gaga is still scheduled to perform the first single from sophomore album "Born This Way," due out May 23, at the Grammy awards ceremony on Sunday (Feb. 13).
